Death to the Zionist Entity! (but not their dried fruits)

Last night on my way home I was informed by my flatmate that we were indeed out of toilet paper yet again (what that girl does with the stuff I have no idea, she uses roughly 6 rolls in the period in which I would go through half).

Being as it was that I was driving along High Street Kensington when the missive came in, I decided to stop at one of those Iranian shops (blinking caviar signs, down the western end of High St Ken) and of course ended up buying 20 quids worth of random Middle Eastern provisions in addition to the requested toilet paper, including these GORGEOUS medjoul dates:

Just to illustrate their size and puffiness, here’s one next to a one pound coin:

Lovely stuff. Apparently the Prophet survived for months on 7 of these a day, I’m told.

Anyway, this morning something struck me about the box, namely it’s brand – King Solomon dates. That’s not very Persian/Arab I thought, and had a closer look:

Holy crap – they’re Israeli! I have bought Zionist dates from an Iranian shop. Stop the presses people, World Peace is happening right here in West Ken.
