Minimalist Media Centre UI on a Mac Mini

I’ve got a Mac mini hooked up to my HDTV and it works really nicely, however I wanted to move to a more XBMC-style media centre UI. Here’s the final result:

This was quite simple to build, namely:

1. Disable the menu bar in the Finder using this

2. Install Remote Buddy from IOSPIRIT

3. Finally install VLC for actually viewing movies etc.

Haha 3.0

I guess there aren’t enough morons out there who want extra sharp 1′s and perfectly oval 0′s:

“It’s not fun to hear about people losing jobs these days, but we’re not fond of high-end cables around these parts, especially for digital signals like HDMI.”*

From: EngadgetHD

* I disagree with EngadgetHD, it IS fun to hear about scamming asshats (like high end digital cable providers) lose their jobs.

You can’t make this shit up

A while ago I read a wonderful piece of social commentary entitled “Fuck Everything, We’re Doing Five Blades” in American’s Finest News Source, The Onion.

Then just now I saw this on British TV:

Unreal.
